Comment EI-33958

Received or sent (printed as 5/14/2025)

Environmental Concerns • The old Toby Branch corridor may cross or run near small streams, wetlands, or floodplains. • Even though it’s an old rail corridor, new fencing, berms, and active train operations could fragment wildlife corridors, particularly for deer • The area likely has noise-sensitive receptors (homes, schools, wildlife habitats) close to the alignment *See attached File* Recommendation: The proposed rail line, while utilizing a former railroad corridor, presents risks to water quality, habitat connectivity, historic resources, and air quality during construction and operation. We strongly recommend detailed studies addressing wetlands, contamination risks, wildlife habitat disruption, and cumulative impacts associated with landfill expansion. Special attention must also be paid to resilience in rail infrastructure design.
