I’m concerned about safety. I don’t want train derailments with risk of fire or toxic chemical release. Will this new line be safer than existing? Will trains move slower? Will train traffic increase? Will track be secure from anyone tampering with the tracks? I don’t want Queen Creek, Mesa or Gilbert to become another Palestine Ohio! Will this strictly be freight and not light rail? I’ve seen the blight of light rail in California and don’t want to see this happen in Arizona. Many news reports in soCal of homeless crime, violence and drug use on light rail.
