I oppose this merger due to the potential significant environmental impacts related to noise, traffic, safety, air quality, wildlife, plant habitats, and water, including streams and wetlands. The CP/KCS deal would nearly double the number of trains running right through five small villages in White Earth Nation, as well as through the territory we ceded in the 1855 Treaty. The White Earth Reservation Business Committee opposes this merger, and so do I. Please work with the White Earth Nation to honor the treaties and do what is in the best interest of this community and the Earth.
