I recently moved to the Elgin area to embrace walkable living, find services and infrastructure, and escape highway noise as I started raising a baby. This merger stands not only to impact every careful decision my family made before moving to the area, but the time and energy of all new parents in my area. Cities want me to pay more in taxes to solve the problems of a train merger that happened without our permission just after we moved. Inexcusable. My family will simply find a better place to raise our child.
