After attending the Surface Transportation public meeting held in Davenport Iowa, I respectfully want to express my/our STRONG OPPOSITION to what is being proposed. The increase in train traffic from this merger is extremely concerning and would be detrimental to not only the environment but also to our quality of life. The fact that they will be moving dangerous chemicals as well as 30,000 gallons of flammable crude oil IN EACH CAR through our neighborhoods and community is very alarming and extremely dangerous. The 19th century railroad tracks cannot and will not support the increase in train traffic. Accidents and derailments are only a matter of time. Being located right on the Mississippi River with the Rock Island Arsenal and the Cordova Nuclear Plant so very close should sound the alarm for everyone. Please do not allow this merger to go forward.
