Good morning. I am writing in favor of the KP/KCS acquisition. As a Native American, to often the professional protestors in our ranks get an amplified voice. These people make a living off finding the next controversy to drum up financial support for. Our native communities need to start being partners in these projects, not opposition. Decades of opposition have left tribes financially unstable, and have created unnecessary roadblocks to infrastructure projects. Treaty rights are not all encompassing. They provide the right to hunt fish and gather. They do not provide the right to be obstructionists at every turn. By amplifying the voice of these profesisonal protestors, the regulatory process for companies that want to invest in Minnesota has become overburdensome and all to time consuming. Incentivize those that will create jobs and opportunities, not the ones yelling the loudest.
