Should the proposed acquisition be approved, and should the frequency of rail transportation of hazardous material increase in the northeast, there is a major possibility of environmental devastation. Because of the immense amount of waterways in the northeast (where my home happens to be located), even one spill of hazardous material can spread via said waterways causing widespread damage. This acquisition should not be approved by the board because the risks involve are too great.
