If this merger were to go through, leading to an increase in fossil fuel shipments through treaty territory, it would impinge on indigenous rights and threaten the well-being of people everywhere. The risk of an oil spill in manoomin wetlands is not trivial. The climate implications of more transport of Canadian tar sands oil are unacceptable. We urge you to deny this merger.
