The current train traffic situation in Bartlett is already causing life threatening delays due to the blocking of on grade crossings. This proposed merger and the additional train traffic it will bring will only exacerbate an already growing problem. Averages do not mean anything to the person that cannot receive life saving help due to train delays. The problem is that this becomes a domino effect. Not only are local residents affected by these delays, other towns and municipalities requiring help from other towns in emergency situations will not have the support they need. Create the infrastructure to support these mergers by way of underpasses and or overpasses and then propose the merger. All things come with a price tag and human life should not be one of them.
