The increased rail traffic will greatly impact my community environment. With no over or underpass the rail line dissects our city in half. Already trains can back up surface road traffic for half a mile. As the additional trains may be longer and need to uncouple to fit into the rail yard, more road traffic will be delayed for longer amounts of time. These delays will affect emergency vehicles, school buses, Metrarail, and commuters. There is no alternative route for walking or biking across town. The noise and air pollution will increase exponentially. O'Hare already overwhelms our area. The noise, air pollution, and increased traffic disruptions are going to put undue stress on our environment and citizens. There is NO benefit for Wood Dale.
