The Canadian Pacific / Kansas City Southern. The extra train traffic and length of time these trains could be crossing through the middle of Itasca would cause a huge detrimental effect on all residents ages 0-100. Itasca being a small comfortable village has the benefits of being people friendly. On any given day at any given time you will see people strolling through the town on their way to the park district, the library, the pool during the warmer months, Itasca Country Club, assorted restaurants, churches, work, and many other venues. The tracks themselves pass through the center of town and to arrive at these destinations they must be crossed. This I believe would not only be a frustrating but dangerous situation. Especially regarding the length of time it would take our first responders to access locations on either side of these tracks. So, one of the comments I read is there would be a "detrimental impact on the quality of life". Should read this "will have a detrimental impact on life itself".
