Many cities have these "quiet zones". I would like to see Davenport and Bettendorf have those quiet zones as well. I know it's a federal law that requires the horn blaring for public safety. This law should not be necessary when almost all intersections already have crossing arms to alert the driver. The person that chooses to drive around these barriers already knows a train is coming, with or without a horn. If that person wants to take the Darwin challenge let them. The other option is install better barricades and let tens of thousand of citizens in this community get uninterrupted slept which is absolutely important for good metal and physical health.
