As a student at the University of Minnesota, I strongly oppose the Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern railroad merger. Not only would the construction cause extensive harm to wildlife in the Mississippi River, but the rail would also cut through historically underserved neighborhoods, further marginalizing at-risk communities.
