As a lifelong resident of Muscatine, this merger is concerning to say the least. Given the amount of trains already going through town, I can’t imagine how the city would function if traffic tripled. Moreover, I’m unhappy with the fact that CP will transport more crude oil along the Mississippi River. The river is one of the most endangered in the country, and we don’t need to increase the risk of water pollution. If this merger is only about profits for CP, why should it be approved?
