The proposed railroad merger between Kansas City Southern and Canadian Pacific is of concern to me. This railroad merger will bring many more trains through the railroad lines of Missouri each and every day, and these trains will be much longer. With the amount of trains being more frequent and longer, I’m worried about children's safety and how this will impact Missourians' lives. Children all across the state, and across these routes walk to school, and don’t have the ability to get a ride to school in some instances. Without the safety aspect of being in a car driven by children’s parents, having to walk across railroad tracks is very worrisome due to the excessive amounts of trains, resulting in a lack of responsibility by Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern.
