What is the point of shipping more crude oil around? Wasn’t that the reason that we cancelled several pipelines up north? Now, rather than weaving through rural, mostly unpopulated areas, the crude oil will move right past busy town centers and commercial districts. This will almost certainly end up poorly. Also, what if there’s a derailment near the river? I hope all parties involved are forced to consider the worst case scenario, not just hope for the best.
