I read in the Missouri Times that this merger is going to be a good thing for our state. And it may seem that way to the casual observer, but it’s hardly a positive move. Tripling train traffic throughout the state will force hundreds of thousands of residents into dealing with train-induced congestion, traffic delays, or worse. We’ve all seen what can happen when people live near these tracks – is this really the right move? Profits from this merger should not come at the expense of quality of life in Missouri. I’d like to see mitigation plans before this merger is approved.
