I would request that a significant increase in freight traffic through the Village of Itasca be reconsidered and not implemented. So many freight trains disecting the Village of Itasca would cause severe harm due to cutting off the north half of the Village from fire, paramedic and police services for extended periods multiple times each and every day. It would also cut off the South side of the Village from getting to the nearest hospital in Elk Grove Village. Additionally, it would separate residents from the Village Hall, Post Office, and overall basic errands. I think additional freight trains cutting off the main through fares of Itasca would be detrimental and harmful to each and every resident, but even more for the infirmed who may need ambulance services.
