I grew up on the S.E. side of Chicago, (Hegewisch) surrounded by railroad tracks and know what it is like to be stranded for a long time, waiting on trains. Got a appointment, better add 30 minutes to your time to get there, just in case! Do I have to drive around under the Roselle underpass and waste gas, spend more tax dollars on a north side fire/police department, and cripple a new downtown development who shops rely on Irving Park road traffic...doesn't make a whole lot of economic sense for Itasca or any community along the corridor. The railroad was ALWAYS for us, to ship our farmers milk to Chicago and to supply commuter service east and west. It was NEVER meant to hinder our community!!!! (Received via project website)
