These long freight trains will limit access into & out of the north side of the village along Irving Park Road. Three intersections will be closed off while the trains pass. Normal travel, school busses, people going to work as well as emergency responders will not be able to move until the freight train passes. These intersections/tracks are located along Irving Park Road, which is a main artery through this village. This will also cause the turn lanes on Irvng Park Road into the north end of the village to get backed-up causing traffic jams in both directions. Traffic will most likely increase on the only other street to exit or enter the north side of Itasca (North Prospect Avenue & I390). Also, the intersection of Wood Dale & Irving Park roads, in Wood Dale, is already a traffic nightmare when a passenger train passes, causing back-ups daily. (Received via project website)
