My 2 greatest concerns with increased freight trains passing thru the village of Itasca are: -our one and only fire station is located on the south side of the tracks. What happens in the case of an emergency or fire on the north side of the tracks? All three crossings in town are grade level and could be blocked by a longer freight train. -Irving park rd is the main thoroughfare thru Itasca, and is a 2 lane road with limited turning lanes. If a freight train is passing thru Itasca, it is possible for traffic to become jammed up on the roadway and motorists would resort to shortcuts thru the neighborhoods which would endanger pedestrians and children playing. And a stopped freight train would snarl traffic for miles. (Received via project website)
