I live less than a mile from the crossing on Birmingham Road in Liberty, MO. I am NOT opposed to the merger of KCS and CP and the predicted increase in traffic on this route. Our neighborhoods of Holt Estates and White Tail Pond were both built after the railroad was established. Complaints about noise do not have much weight with me. People who bought or built houses in these 2 subdivisions should have been aware of the railroad tracks passing through. Some comments have been made in local news media about people driving around rail crossing arms. People often do not obey laws concerning driving. A comment was made that there are already 25 trains that run daily on this track. I was not aware of that as it certainly doesn't seem like that. Some days do seem busier than others and I am aware that freight does not have a set schedule. In the past couple of years, a southern route around Liberty was completed. Because of that, I use the crossing on Birmingham Road more than I used to. I am not often stopped by trains. I am NOT opposed to the merger and the predicted increase in rail traffic through Liberty, MO.
