My bet is that not many are in favor of more trains – as I am not either. If we don't have a choice though, I would suggest looking at our crossings – especially at Prospect and Irving Park Road – the "holding pattern is not large. Might be time to close-off that road. Or, make Prospect one way (North), like in the old days when the train station was on Main Street. Imagine the congestion at Main street and Prospect too, south of the tracks. People on Main traveling East, may want to drive further East to avoid trying to cross at the tracks to get to Irving. This might create more traffic in front of areas like Polyanna's. Is there room to increase the width of Main street in this area? Noise will be a factor. Not a whole lot you can do to lessen the sound of the wheels on the tracks. We will also have to consider the routes our emergency vehicles would have to take to get to areas north of Irving. For pedestrians, I still throw out the idea of pedestrian bridges to get across Irving Park. Considering that we will soon have a parking issue when Menge Dogs opens, creating a way for pedestrians to safely cross Irving Park, might encourage people to park on the north side of irving (bank parking lot after certain hours). This pedestrian bridge can be for bikers too. I see the bridge being beautifully crafted – "Welcome to Tradition Meets Tomorrow" is included on this bridge. That's all I have for now!
