I have seen many of these types of Aquisitions in the past in multiple states I have lived. As much as freight states the times they would stop traffic would be within a 6-15 minute window, it's impossible to state with certainity as well as impossible to enforce. Most freights last well over 6 minutes in the Chicagoland area. Our intersection was restructured to help eliminate the traffic clog in the past, when it was simply Metra traffic. This aquisition will undo everything that millions of dollars were spent in the past to circumvent. I urge the City of Wood Dale to look past adding to their pocketbook and think about the traffice congestion and noise level in our town, which is already too great. You will turn our town into a mini O'Hare airport of traffic travel, noise and congestion. Please think of your Residents and VOTE NO on this proposition! (Received via project website)
