My family lives river ward of the train tracks as do about 100 other families between LeClaire and Princeton. The difficulties of gaining access to our property will be hugely compounded by tripling the train traffic. Our home is also just past a switch yard which means we could have 3 times as many trains blocking our road. What do we do if we have a medical emergency and our driveway is blocked? The trains also blow their screeching horns at our crossing - this is going to happen 3 times more??? Who can sleep through that? If the number of trains triple, the general winter peace that wildlife experience along the river now will result in permanent disturbance and harassment. Every time a train passes, Bald Eagles perched along the riverfront are disturbed and vacate the area, as do the flocks of migrating waterfowl. A continual disturbance could cause Eagles and waterfowl to vacate the area permanently. I believe the current number of trains are already at their limit of compatibility with established residents of this area - residents who settled here based on a bareable amount of train traffic, not a train super highway!
