I am adding my comment because this train line is adjacent to my neighborhood at Spaulding Lane in Bartlett and also crossing Naperville Rd. in Bartlett, IL. It is very challenging when freight trains come through our residential community and block access to our roads. It is one thing when we are stopped by a quick moving Metra train, but our surrounding communities are opposed to more freight train traffic. If this happens we need to have significant roadway enhancements so that the roads overpass the train tracks. We absolutely can not allow Spauliding or West Bartlett Road areas in Bartlett to be used as switching stations with trains blocking access to our residential communities. We also worry about the safety of our community with hazardous materials being transported right along rail lines that are in very close proximity to residential communities.
