I STRONGLY OPPOSE this merger. I have a home within a quarter mile of the Franklin Park, IL train yard. As much as the train track crossings are annoying to wait for, that’s the least of my concerns. Do you know what it’s like to have a new born baby close to a train yard?!?!? It’s horrible. And that’s been my life. The NOISE from the trains turning the massive curve to enter and exit the yard is a high pitched, ear piercing, deafening screeching that is constant whenever a train is entering or exiting. Which is very often!!! The ONLY crossing left on York road in Bensenville has signs that say “No Train Horn, Proceed With Caution”. But that’s a blatant LIE!!!!! The trains, ESPECIALLY, the freight trains, are blowing their horns ALL THE TIME!!!! And then they blow their horns at all hours of the night and early morning hours while they’re parked inside the train yard!!! There’s people trying to live and thrive over here and these guys don’t give two shits!!! What makes you think it’ll be better with more trains??? It’s not going to get any better!!! Please don’t do this to us!!! I will be forced to move my family out of town!!! (Received via project email)
