Street, SW Washington, D.C. 20423 March 21, 2008 Dear Sir: At its regular meeting on March 3, 2008, the Talkeetna Community Council, Inc. Board agreed to send you the following initial comment on the draft Scope of Study/ARRC proposed alternatives for the Port MacKenzie Rail Extension. We agree with and support the Willow Area Community Organization (WACO) in its opposition to the routing of the Port MacKenzie Rail Extension through the community of Willow (Railroad Corridor #3). This route has a potential for serious negative impacts in that it crosses numerous high-use community trails and a large number of anadromous fish streams in area west of Willow.
