Robert Stump 8133 Summerset Dr. Anchorage Alaska,99518 907-563-0326 David Navecky STB Finance Docket No. FD-35095-0 Surface Transportation Board 395 E Street, SW Washington, DC 205423 I am commenting on the rail connection to Port Mackenzie. To Whom it may concern: I am a long-time resident of Alaska and I have some concerns about the proposed routes for the railroad. I live in Anchorage and own a business there also. In the summer, me, my wife and children enjoy boating and jetskiing in the Big Lake and Willow areas. In the winter we go snow machining in both areas as well. My parents and two sisters live in the Wasilla/Houston areas, as well as my daughter-in-law and two young grandchildren. So, I care very much for the the Valley's development as well as Quality of Lifestyle and Living". I have several concerns about the proposed railroad route. I want to focus on the "Water Resources". The proposed railroad dissects the watershed drainage, and will act as a dam to interrupt the natural flow of surface water. Most of the public land is wetlands. The Wetlands support a plethora of plants and wildlife, as well as the habitat and breeding area. In 2006, rainwater made the lakes rise 18.75", thus, overtopping the lakes. Because there is no public water utility in the area, All are on private wells. Any pollution could contaminate the water supply for the entire area. Since I have so many family members living out in the Valley, I am concerned for their health, if this railroad goes in. I have studied all of the proposed routes, and the direct route to Willow (the one to the west) route makes the most logical sense. This route appears to have the least impact on private land and the least impact on the lake systems and the Trails. Thank you for the opportunity to voice my concerns.
