In regards to the Union Pacific wanting to traffic more trains through the Sikeston-Rockview route, this would affect Oran, Mo, our home town. I realize that trains are a necesary means of transport for our area. With that in mind, we are highly concerned about the amount of traffic that will increase in our small town of a little over 1,000 people. We have three railroad track crossings in our small town and people live really close to them. An increase in traffic would be a major interuption in their everyday lives. My sister and brother both live very close to the tracks and have small children. The train horns are very very loud in our town and very disruptive at night when people are sleeping. We are very much against the increased traffic in our area. I do know that the system is already running many engines on the tracks to give the sense that we already run a lot of trains in that area". An engine is not the same as a full train. Full trains will create many delays for people trying to get to work, home from work, fire engines and other emergency vehicles trying to get to disasters. Please do not allow this to happen. If a member of our family was in need of emergency assistance, I would be completely upset and would seek resitution for damages. I lived on the other side of tracks from the main town when I was little and experienced many, many delays from stopped trains and trains passing by. I do not like the delays that trains create. Please keep the trains running the way they are. The change would not bring any jobs or any other benefits to our area."
