Living in a beautiful state like MT, and hearing plans for a railroad to be built to haul coal to the west coast, for the profit of an Eastern coal company, I am more than appalled. There is no way that this project is for public convenience and necessity." There is NOTHING convenient for the public and this is certainly NOT necessary. There are no positives involved, only negatives and probable negatives. The carving up of a beautiful, pristine valley, the effects on property values, health (!!!,) to say nothing of the noise pollution, possiblility of flooding--there simply is nothing at all that could benefit the citizens of Montana and the other states the railroad would pass through. If YOU lived and ranched in the Tongue River Valley, would YOU support the project?? Probably not. Please do the right thing. Do NOT allow this travesty to occur. Once done, it can't be un-done, and too many people will suffer terribly."
