I oppose the latest application for a new route to build the railroad from Otter Creek to existing rail lines in Colstrip (Docket No. FD 30186). This last minute bait and switch should not be tolerated. This new route proposal should reopen the public comment period and hold a hearing Coltsrip. Furthermore, you should analyze the devastating effects climate change will have on Montana and the nation and also the harm to existing agricultural operations and livelihoods along the new route. When analyzing the effects of climate change, consider the latest findings about the temperatures in the U.S. for 2012, the hottest year ever and how scientists who express that this new record may have been set without the backdrop of global warming but at the same time, global warming caused by the human release of greenhouse gases may well have contributed to the record and will likely cause more climate warming.
