Comment EI-19664

Received or sent (printed as 1/9/2013)

It is wrong to allow the Arch Creek Company to change and enlarge the area requested for mining. At this time there is inadequate regulation and follow-through to deal with environmental problems caused by destruction of the landscape and habitat; reclamation efforts are not sufficient to resolve these issues. The plans to build the Tongue River RR to Colstrip, and then sending coal trains across Montana, need to include safe guards protecting citizens from coal dust spread by these trains throughout the communities and landscape. There are numerous unresolved concerns about the impact of numerous trains running through towns across mainstreets at the busiest times of the day. These trains will also cause harm to existing agricultural operations. The public comment period should be reopened and a hearing held in Colstrip. These plans will inrease the devastating effects on climate change in Montana and across the nation.
