Dear Ken, I am writing to oppose the application for a permit to allow construction of the Tongue River Railroad in eastern Montana for transporting coal. This unnecessary train traffic would have adverse impacts on my hometown of Bozeman, not to mention the environmental impact on the beautiful Tongue River Valley from the coal that is proposed to be mined there. I also urge you to consider the serious climate impacts of fossil fuel use in this and other transportation projects. As you know, this railroad is already opposed by a majority of local landowners, citizens of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, hunters and anglers and conservationists in eastern Montana. In fact, during the evening public hearings, (in Forsyth, Ashland, Lame Deer and Miles City) only a single person spoke in favor of the railroad. Please do not put commercial interests in front of the interests of the citizens of Montana and the U.S. Thank you, Darren Long
