Our community needs a full study of the effects that abandonment of the Harsimus Branch, and demolition of the Embankment, will have on our environment and daily lives. I am concerned about the impact that the demolition of such a massive structure might have on air quality, water quality, health, and quality of life in the neigborhood. Since the neighborhood is located on a floodplain, homeowners in the area already have to contend with structural damage caused when homes settle. A demolition project could further impair the structural integrity of buildings close to the Embankment.
