It makes little or no sense to bypass a system of checks and balances that was put in place to ensure that large projects do not adversely impact residents and businesses taking place in urban environments. An EIS is necessary and prudent when decisions are made that will directly affect those that live there. Why would Jersey City want to give up land to developers without doing the research necessary to ensure that whatever choices are made, are made for the communty and in a way that will benefit those that live and work there. It is irresponsiable to do such a huge project without an Enviromental Impact Statement. Is someone trying to hide something???
