Since any action taken on the Harsimus Branch Embankment in Jersey City will significantly impact the quality of the environment in our community, I request that you please authorize a full environmental impact statement. Abandonment of the structure will lead directly to its demolition. Jersey City is sorely lacking in open space, and the Embankment could help fulfill this need. Further, by destroying this historical structure, we lose the possibility to connect the Secaucus Light Rail with downtown Jersey City, and invite traffic congestion and air pollution. Please consider the quality of life of the citizens of Jersey City!
