Our community needs a full study of the effects that abandonment of the Harsimus Branch, and demolition of the Embankment, will have on our community and city. How could you think to allow this historic structure to be abandoned without such a study? I live a block away from the Embankment, and I know that abandonment will lead directly to Conrail and its partner demolishing the Embankment. In fact, they are seeking demo permits already. If they are allowed to demo the massive structure, I don't think we can imagine what that will mean in terms of decreased air quality, dust, noise, not to mention damage to structures like my home which is nearby. Does the City want to face class action lawsuits for that kind of damage? Require a study at the bare minimum. Linda Zimmerman
