The abandonment of the Embankment will directly lead the Harsimus Cove neighborhood to the unfortunate demolition of this historic and natural preserve. The direct effect of any demolition will not only destroy a potentially wonderful park/transportation hub but will cause the loss of a beautiful park. You only need to see what New York City is doing with the rail sites on the West Side of Manhattan along 10th Ave. and 30's to realize the benefit. This park could be a potential Promenade Plantée as in Paris brining visitors and a view of the surrounding area. The environmental impact for the community would be devastating with dump trucks carrying debris and dust of unknown contaminants in a fragile historical neighborhood. Not to mention the flood impact where no half-mile of fill to absorb stormwater in flood plain. The loss of public transportation potential and natural beauty will be irreversible. Please reconsider anything that would destroy this EMBANKMENT. The photos I have provided could be Jersey City instead of more housing that the neighborhood is not prepared to handle.
