Due to the tremendous revitalization of this area over the last decade this area has become a tranquil residential area known for its historic buildings and neighborhoods. The impact of any changes to the Harsismus Embankment and branch area would be significant due to the historical nature of this area, the number of residents and young families living in the area and environmental concens. Demolition of the embankment would destroy what has become a wildlife habitat and potentially release toxins in a densely populated area. There is also concern regarding the impact on the structures in the surrounding area that are over one hundred years old. A full study should be conducted so that a prudent and safe plan can be devised that addresses concerns of all those impacted especially the area residents and in particular those whose homes overlook this area and who have enjoyed the increased wildlife development there.
