Comment EI-17527

Received or sent (printed as 4/28/2009)

Our community needs a full study of the effects that abandonment of the Harsimus Branch, and demolition of the Embankment, will have on our community and city. -- I'm worried about the possibility that demolition of the embankment will severaly disrupt the flow of traffic, as well as cause massive problems with air quality, noise, and vibrations to the houses sitting directly next to it. In addition, the enbankment is a cultural icon of Jersey City, and removal of the landmark would be destroying part of the city's identity. The landmark is not only an icon for residents of Jersey City, but home to migratory birds and local species that already struggle to find green space to live in the extremely developed area.
