OuAn environmental impact statement must be conducted in occordance with federal law as abandonment of the embankment will lead directly to demolition and associated massive environmental impact on the resedential neighborhoods through which it runs. My understanding is that no environmental impact study has been conducted, and futhermore very limited environmental testing of any descriptions has been undertaken. If a structure of this size were to be demolished in the middle of our neighborhood the dust and potential polution would be enormous. There are likely all kinds of contaminants in this ground that may be stirred up and released. Robin Tew.
