AB 167 (Sub-No. 1189X) · CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION--ABANDONMENT EXEMPTION--IN HUDSON COUNTY, N.J.

Comment EI-17503

Received or sent (printed as 4/23/2009)

Highland , NY , where I live, is a semi-rural area along the Hudson River with several rail trails and other trails. Farther south on the Hudson , the East Coast Greenway route connects to New York City and from there to the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway in Jersey City . I have friends there who have been working to bring the Greenway to Jersey City, a heavily populated city in the most densely populated county in the nation. These city dwellers deserve to have rail trails, too. Please take care to consider the consequences of abandonment on the 240,000 people living in Jersey City and those of us from the wider region who want to see the completion of the Greenway. Sincerely, Geoff Meyer
