The Harsimus Embankment is an enormous structure in a historic neighborhood. My building - and the condominium i own inside of it, along with many in the Hamilton Park Historic District, were built in the post-Civil War era (circa 1890s). Over that time, the buildings have flexed with the natural elements and increase in population on the streets and inside the buildings. As of now, they are deemed safe. However, without a thorough EIS by the STB, it is not certain that the buildings can survive the weight of the modern machinery needed to teardown the Embankment. Keeping the Embankment as it stands today, is very important to me. Ensuring the structural security of my building and home is critical. Please conduct a thorough EIS. Thank you.
