Comment EI-17428

Received or sent (printed as 4/13/2009)

To destroy the embankment and then embed additional housing (low/middle class) would not do Hamilton Park Historical Area any good. It would devalue the properties already in the area. What most of us would like is for it to be a scenic trail to the beauty of Jersey City. A place where the community could enjoy and visitors can come see. Run a trolley from one end of the embankment to the other charging $1.00 for each ride. Lease parts of the park for snacks, drinks to vendors so the city profits. There are many other areas in Jersey City, which are available for house especially off Jersey Avenue and 17th Street. We must preserve visual history and not always rely on documented history. If all landmarks are taken then we have no history but the present.
