I have lived in the Hamilton park neighborhood for the last ten years. Five years in my current home and five years on 5th St. I have lived with the embankment as a part for my life for ten years and I have come to appreciate it presence in my neighborhood. Its demolition raises many concerns effecting my quality of life and effecting the environment. I would hope that you can please authorize an Environmental Impact Statement before abandonment causes severe adverse effects to the Jersey City historic district, neighborhoods, and families. I am concerned with its effect on our air quality from moving so much dirt and the noise created by all of the work. As well as heavy dump trucks driving up and down the streets and the damage caused to the old buildings of this neighborhood by all the vibrations. Not to mention the effects on air quality from all of the exhaust fumes from the trucks and machinery used for the demolition. As well as the length of time required for its completion . I am concerned with possible contaminants being released and the impact this could have on my health, dew to lack of extensive testing to this sight. I am concerned with the the fact that Conrail's development partner has failed to submit environmental sampling studies to theSTB. I am also concerned with the displacement of wild life like birds, rodents and insects into the surrounding areas and homes. Finally I am concerned with the possibility of development of more homes and the impact this would have on the neighborhood. It would create less parking, more traffic, and pollution, and a strain on our sewer systems by increasing use. I am fearful of all of these things and would question weather or not I would consider leaving the Jersey City if such a project were to take place. Thank you for you consideration, Lenny Misuraca
