I am writing to request that you consider the absolute importance and necessity of conducting an Environmental Impact Sutdy prior to making any decision regarding the Pennsylvania Railroad Harsimus Stem Embankment in Jersey City. We need to CONSERVE our open spaces especially in heavily populated cities. This is registered on the state list of Historic places and to even consider abandonement which will, in all liklihood lead to demolition is a serious concern which will have devastating results on the area surrounding the Embankment. I strongly urge that EVERY option to prohibit this abandonement be considered.
