Greetings! I am writing with concern regarding the proposed demolition of the Embankment in downtown Jersey City. I have visited Jersey City on multiple occasions, and found that there is need for further green space for the community. My sister, brother-in-law, and 3-year-old nephew live in Jersey City, and would regularly visit the Embankment if it were transformed into a park. In the last couple of years, there have been other similar situations in the area, where old buildings or structures were demolished, and my nephew, who has asthma, was negatively impacted by those tear-downs and constructions. Why not provide a better place for him in the Jersey City area, versus building additional condos in an overly-congested area? The quality of life for the community would benefit from the preservation of the Embankment as a park rather than more, unnecessary condo developments. Sincerely, Katherine Gilfilen
