I write with the hopes the Embankment in Jersey City will not be demolished. I moved to Jersey City six months ago. I was drawn to the community for many reasons, least among them was the sense the old beauty of the neighborhood in which I live. The streets of the Hamilton Park and Harimus Cove sections of the city are lined with turn of the century brownstones and mom and pop businesses. The buildings and the residents combine to give the section of town near the 6th street embankment a historic feel. I can imagine nothing which would be more detrimental to the very features which attract new residents and hold old ones to this part of town. I can also think of nothing better than to create a green space in an urban area.
