I own a home a few blocks from the Embankment, in a wonderful but crowded urban neighborhood. The mix of people makes Downtown JC a great place to live and raise kids. But the lack of green space, the excessive high rise development and the increase in traffic threaten the neighborhood. The Embankment serves as a buffer, an historical artifact that holds the neighborhood together. And the potential for the Embankment to be a park is substantial. My kids play little league baseball near the Embankment, my wife and I bike around it. Please do not let it get torn down. Please do not let this urban environment suffer from excessive construction and unnecessary destruction.
